How to disable startup programs?

In these difficult times, many programs that we install on your computer , try to register themselves in startup. In this regard, the majority of ordinary users are loaded at boot time for 5-7 it unnecessary programs, which, of course, a lot can impede on. So today we are going to do the question of how to disable startup programs.

Disable startup programs in Windows XP to Windows 7 is no different. We consider the process of how to disable startup programs based on Windows 7.

All this is done quite simply:

First press the key combination Win + R


The next window
displayed "Run", where we write «msconfig» (without quotation marks) and click OK.

Now you should see a window configuration. We are interested in only one tab: Startup.


Of course, the software installed you will be different from mine, but the principle is quite general, to learn how to disable startup programs you can!


To start, try to identify by name (1 column, "Startup Items") are programs that prevent you boot Windows (there is a window Skype, ICQ, uTorrent, Winamp, Adobe Reader, etc.). This may not always be easy - then look for the location of the program (3 column, "Team").

(Little hint: if you do not know what kind of program with a strange name - try searching Google (or Yandex) by name, almost 100% of people have already asked about this or that program!)

To disable startup programs, simply uncheck all unneeded programs! After you check all that apply / unneeded items, click the "Apply" and then "OK." You should see the message about the choice: Exit without restart or reboot.

If you want to see the result of your work, you can restart. And if you really something take the time - click on the "Exit without restart", then the changes will take effect after the shutdown or, again, restart your computer.
